![]() (As you may have noticed, they’ve made things even more confusing by using the marketing name SketchUp Pro, while also naming the software SketchUp Pro.) You still with me? Hopefully, I can clear things up for you. You actually get multiple programs when you purchase what’s marketed as “SketchUp Pro”. However, there are times when the marketing name actually refers to a bundle of software, and that’s where things get confusing.įor example, when you subscribe to “SketchUp Pro” at $299/yr, the software you actually receive is SketchUp Pro, Style Builder, and LayOut, along with several other apps and services. ![]() Sometimes, the software name and the marketing name are one and the same, which makes it easy. The marketing name under which the software is sold or downloaded.Part of what makes the different versions of SketchUp so confusing is that there are really two distinctions to be made with each SketchUp name: And while the fundamental features of each SketchUp platform feel familiar, there are some distinct differences between the three current SketchUp platforms, and the recently retired SketchUp Make platform. All of these products provide an excellent 3D modeling platform, whether you are modeling for 3D printing, architectural design, landscape design, interior design, woodworking, film, gaming, or just visualizing some remodeling ideas in your own home. There are currently three main flagship SketchUp Products: SketchUp Free, SketchUp Shop, SketchUp for iPad, and SketchUp Pro. Combine all this with an intuitive inference system and universal measurement input, and you get incredible speed, flexibility, and accuracy that allows you to get creative, without having the tool get in your way. Tags provide additional control on object visibility, regardless of where objects are nested. The simplicity behind being able to organize faces and edges into an infinite number of nested groups and components gives you control over how you want to organize your model. Decide for yourself that this will represent a wall or a floor.Īlthough SketchUp is not parametric by nature, there are some extensions, like Medeek Wall, you can install in SketchUp Pro that introduce parametric features, and include several object-specific tools. Of course, you can group it and label it, and assign it a tag that you name “wall”.īut my point is, you’re not confined to working within certain tools for certain types of objects that the SketchUp team has decided you should be creating. There is no “Wall tool”, or “Floor tool”, but you’re free to draw a rectangle and extrude it and hereby declare that this extruded rectangle shall now be known as a “WALL”. That’s sort of the beauty behind SketchUp. SketchUp is, at its core, a surface polygon modeler, meaning, everything is either a face or an edge. What you’ll find in all of the SketchUp 3D modeling platforms is an easy-to-use, fun 3D modeling program. You can start using it right now, at The SketchUp foundation To recap, the current free version of SketchUp is called SketchUp Free, which is a web-based version of SketchUp that runs right in your browser. □ You’ll learn more about the differences between all the various SketchUp products below. Most notably, you can only use extensions on the desktop versions of SketchUp. There are several differences between the desktop and browser versions of SketchUp. If you're a CAD beginner, this easy-to-use software is especially useful. To replace SketchUp Make, Trimble launched an entirely web-based SketchUp platform on which you’ll find SketchUp Free. The 3D Warehouse is a great resource that will provide a generous supply of models and symbols to choose from and work with. The layout of SketchUp Pro is very intuitive and easy to use, even for the least knowledgeable CAD designers. SketchUp Pro is a great choice for anyone that is new to computer-aided design. Phone numbers aren't listed on the Trimble website, but you can request a number for support through email. Additionally, technical support is free for the first year of your license, and you can reach support staff via email or online ticket. The manual, forum and tutorial videos available for this program all do a great job of covering topics and tools you'll need to design with SketchUp Pro. Even though this CAD software is one of the easiest programs to use, CAD software is complex by nature and having good support options is important.

In the mid-1980s, new wave declined with the emergence of the New Romantic, New Pop, and New Music genres. MTV, which was launched in 1981, heavily promoted new-wave acts, boosting the genre's popularity. New wave commercially peaked from the late 1970s into the early 1980s with numerous major artists and an abundance of one-hit wonders. Although new wave shares punk's do-it-yourself philosophy, the artists were more influenced by the styles of the 1950s along with the lighter strains of 1960s pop and were opposed to the generally abrasive, political bents of punk rock, as well as what was considered to be creatively stagnant " corporate rock". The location is hard to beat: between Kralendijk (walking distance) and the airport (far enough from it not to be bothered by the planes which you can still see landing in the distance). Don't miss the manager's free rum punch event on Fridays, which attracts both hotel guests and locals. There is a daily happy hour at the beach bar (granted, the beach is tiny) with a nice little pier reaching out to the sea to watch the green flash (sunset effect). There are two pools that I saw some people use, either to swim or to hang out at in the evening, but why bother when the ocean is right there? The on-site open-air restaurants were great and served a mix of local and international cuisine, with daily themes. There is resort-wide wireless Internet (free), with decent coverage throughout, and also meeting facilities (above the dive shop). I saw many flight crews staying in this resort. The beds have new therapeutic mattresses that let me sleep like I hadn't in quite a while. As the learner becomes more comfortable with the material, the assistance of the educator lessens and the learner does more of the work on their own. When the learner and teacher begin working together, the teacher models most of the work, explaining how and why they do things to help the learner comprehend the content. Vygotsky scaffolding, commonly referred to as scaffolding, is a process used in the classroom in which a teacher or capable student helps a student within their ZPD. You may visualize ZPD as a series of three concentric circles. ZPD concentrates on what a learner can do by themselves versus what they can do with the help of someone else. Vygotsky's scaffolding began when other theorists applied his theory, called the zone of proximal development (ZPD) in the classroom. The educators or students teaching the learners scaffold the material in smaller chunks so the learner can expand their understanding of the material more than they would on their own. The concept states students learn more when working with people who have a broader scope of knowledge than the student learning the content.
